Sean T. Robitaille, CFA
President and Chief Executive Officer

Sean Robitaille co-founded Markland Street in 2006 and was responsible for growing the company to almost $500 million of assets under management in its first year. In 2008 Mr. Robitaille was nominated for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for his role at Markland.

Formerly Mr. Robitaille spent 10 years with a Canadian bank-owned investment dealer where he was most recently Head of Equity Private Placements. Under his direction the group acted as lead or co-lead advisor in over $2 billion of private equity placements. Mr. Robitaille has served on the Board of Trustees of the predecessor company to Timbercreek Mortgage Investment Corp. (TMC-TSX).

Mr. Robitaille has a degree in Business Administration (honours) from the Richard Ivey School of Business Administration at the University of Western Ontario. Mr. Robitaille also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Toronto CFA Society.

Robert Levis, LL.B, CFA
Managing Director

Robert Levis brings an extensive background in law and finance to Markland Street Asset Management.

Mr. Levis began his career with Pemberton Securities Inc., a full-service investment-banking firm. He later joined RBC Dominion Securities Inc.

In 1996, after completing his law degree from the University of British Columbia, Mr. Levis joined the law firm of Lang Michener LLP, where he practiced corporate and securities law.

Mr. Levis later co-founded Altara Capital Corporation and held the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of Altara's primary holding, Altara Securities Inc. In 2001, Mr. Levis and his partner merged with TWC Financial Corporation to form TWC Group of Companies. At TWC Group of Companies Mr. Levis became Chief Executive Officer. In 2003, Mr. Levis and his partner again merged TWC Group of Companies with the Berkshire group of companies to become one of Canada's largest fully integrated financial services firms.

Mr. Levis holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA institute, the Law Society of British Columbia and the Vancouver and Toronto CFA societies.
